Day Skipper intensive combined –

Only 5 days work holiday is needed as the course runs from Sat to Sunday. The course consists of 4 days in the classroom and 5 days on the water. Learn the theory in our
classroom on the edge of Plymouth Sound the reinforce what have learned with
the 5 day Practical course which takes place in our superb practical location situated
in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Theory
Practical Get the chance to put your theory into practice and
reinforce what you have already learned in a practical environment under the guidance
of your qualified and experienced RYA Instructor. Our planned training itinerary
takes in the delights of Plymouth Sound, Tamar, Salcombe
and Fowey allowing students to gain strong skills in our challenging
environment. Topics include boat handling under
power and sail, sail theory, pilotage methods and
passage planning, mooring and anchoring skills The course
price includes: Accommodation
on board your yacht for the 9 days, food on board during the Practical
course, the RYA Day Skipper course pack and hire of a Portland Plotter and
set of Dividers, RYA Certificates. We aim for
students to be both competent and confident skippers. To be successful in this course we
recommend that you have pre-course experience of 5 days, 100 miles, 4 night hours on board a sailing yacht. On
successful completion you will be awarded the Day Skipper Shorebased
and practical course completion certificates.
