Our Dartmouth based RYA practical base has been carefully chosen for its superb location, being situated on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty and opening up the whole of the South West UK coast, the Channel Islands and France for you to explore. Our RYA shore based courses run from our well equipped conference facilities at Kingsbridge in the South Hams and in the Midlands. Our Yachts are moored on pontoon moorings at Darthaven and Noss-on-dart marinas, which lie on the east shore of the magnificent River Dart, in the peaceful rural reaches above the Dartmouth town.

We offer a full range of RYA courses including the new 9 day shorebased/practical combined Day Skipper course, ladies only courses, boat handling and confidence building weekends, intensive shorebased courses, including Day Skipper, VHF GMDSS SRC, First Aid. Welcome to Sail-west (Bareboat and Skippered Yacht Charter)

Sail-West is Start Point Sailing's sister company offering bareboat and skippered yacht charter, corporate days and family holidays starting from Dartmouth, Plymouth, Falmouth, Weymouth and skippered and bareboat yacht charter in both Greece and the Canary Islands. Whether the Yachts are used for sea school or charter we pride ourselves on vessels that are fully DoT coded and well maintained, being subject to a stringent maintenance schedule which ensures our clients always have safe, operational craft.
